Appleton School Board Approves ‘Sandy Slope Elementary’ as Name for New North Side School

Land on the north side of Appleton which was sold to the school district in 1999, will be named Sandy Slope Elementary, June 12, 2023. PC: Fox 11 Online

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Appleton School Board approved a recommendation for the name of a new elementary school.

The new school will be named Sandy Slope Elementary.

The school is located on the north side of Appleton and will soon be the district’s 17th elementary school.

The property was purchased from Richard and Alice Van Handel.

As part of the agreement to buy, land purchasers agreed to name any elementary school on the property, Sandy Slope.
