STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — If you receive a phone call from the Door County Sheriff’s Office, demanding money, it’s most likely a scam.
Deputies say they’ve received complaints of a telephone scam where the scammers are claiming to be deputies and administration of the Door County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they will never call you to request money over the phone and if you have any questions regarding any monetary request involving the sheriff’s office, to call them directly at (920) 746-2400.
