(WTAQ-WLUK) — Smoke from Canadian wildfires will return to Wisconsin skies this weekend, making the air quality unhealthy for sensitive groups.
Wildfire smoke is expected to move into the state Friday, with the northern half of Wisconsin to see the heaviest smoke impacts from noon Friday to late Saturday night.
The southern half of the state will see the heaviest smoke impacts from 6 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
The DNR listed the air quality index at PM2.5 for the weekend. That means those with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should consider avoiding prolonged or heavy exertion. Everyone else should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
