APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An organization that supports emergency responders in Outagamie County is looking for some help from the community.
Friends of Outagamie County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) launched its capital campaign Tuesday to raise $135,000 to buy a new support trailer for housing and transporting necessary equipment to the scenes of emergencies.
Outagamie County CERT is a group of volunteers who respond to emergency situations in support of emergency responders. CERT provides things like hydration, nutrition, cooling in hot weather, warmth in cold weather, and shelter from the elements.
During its launch in Appleton, Skogen Festival Foods pledged a $15,000 match grant to jumpstart the campaign.
The new support trailer will be safer and more efficient as it will partner with the organization’s new Ford F350 four-wheel drive pickup.
