It was a stunning finish. The Minnesota Twins handed the Milwaukee Brewers their fourth straight loss in dramatic fashion, scoring four runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-5 walk off victory at Target Field. With Milwaukee leading 5-3, All Star closer Devin Williams came on to finish it off. He was 10 for 10 in save opportunities this year, the Brewers were 28-0 this season when leading after 8 innings. Michael Taylor sparked the rally by hitting a lead off homer to centerfield. After a walk and stolen base, Donovan Salano tied the game with an RBI single and then Carlos Correa ended it with a walk off two run blast deep to left. The inexplicable meltdown of Williams spoiled a solid start from Corbin Burnes who got into the seventh inning allowing three runs on 7 hits with 8 strikeouts. Christian Yelich had a big night at the plate going 3 for 5 driving in four of the five runs. He plated a pair in a three run third to stake Milwaukee to the lead and then came through with a clutch, two out, two run homer in the top of the 7th that made it 5-2. Victor Caratini was 3 for 4 but the Brewers drop to 34-33 on the season and remain one game back of Pittsburgh, an 11-3 loser to the Cubs, in the NL Central race. The final game of the two game series will have Colin Rea on the mound against Bailey Ober. Pre-game coverage gets underway at 11:35 AM with a 12:10 PM first pitch on WNFL.
