APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — On Monday at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers from the Appleton Police Department responded to a gas station in the 2800 block of East Newberry Street for an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller and canvassed the area for the suspect.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the unidentified suspect displayed a firearm during the incident.
“There was one employee that was there, and that was the caller,” said Lieutenant Meghan Cash. “At this point, I’m not aware of anybody else being in the gas station at that time.”
Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage, collecting evidence, and completing interviews.
The suspect is described as a white male who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs between 180-200lbs. He left on foot before officers arrived on scene.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The police department urges anybody with additional information to call them at 920-832-5500. Additionally, police say any video or photos captured from individual neighbors on security systems or doorbell cameras from the immediate area would be helpful.
