LA bullpen locks down Brewers

The Los Angeles Dodgers evened the series with the Milwaukee Brewers by scoring a 6-2 victory at American Family Field Tuesday night.   Mookie Betts greeted Eric Lauer with a lead off home run, the 39th of his career.    L.A. would take on another in the opening inning, scoring again in the second and Will Smith took Lauer deep in the third.   The Brewers left hander said it felt like he had “jelly” legs and had to rely too much on his fastball, taking the loss working just three and two third innings.   Miguel Vargas whacked a two run homer off reliever Bryse Wilson in the 6th as the Dodgers led 6-0.    L.A. starter Noah Syndergaard lasted only one inning after suffering a lacerated index finger so Dodger manager Dave Roberts turned to his bullpen, trotting out 7 relievers over the final eight innings and they limited Milwaukee to just five hits.   The Brewers finally got on the board with Rowdy Tellez and Victor Caratini hitting solo home runs in the 7th.   Milwaukee drops to 20-16 on the season and they’ll send Wade Miley against Clayton Kershaw in the series finale Wednesday afternoon.  Pre-game coverage begins at 12:05 PM with a 12:40 PM first pitch on WNFL.
