After a 1-5 trip out west, the Milwaukee Brewers welcomed the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers to open a homestand at American Family Field Monday night and the home cooking was tasty as the Crew rolled the Dodgers 9-3. Freddy Peralta and Tony Gonsolin were both sharp early but the Brewers struck first when rookie Joey Wiemer launched a three run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning. LA answered with the only run allowed by Peralta in the top of the sixth. In another quality start, Peralta gave up the run on three hits with five strikeouts over his six innings to earn his 4th win. Milwaukee then erupted in the bottom of the 7th with a six run rally. Wiemer delivered again with a run scoring double, Christian Yelich brought home a pair with a single to left and Willy Adames capped the big inning with a three run blast. Adames has hit two homers and driven in seven runs in his last two games. The Dodgers got a pinch hit, two run homer from Chris Taylor in the 9th off Bennett Sousa who made his Brewer debut out of the bullpen. Milwaukee improves to 20-15 and they remain a half game behind Pittsburgh in the NL Central as the Pirates snapped a seven game slide by shutting out Colorado 2-0 behind Mitch Keller’s complete game, four hit gem.
