Brewers fall to Tigers

The Milwaukee Brewers have hit a patch of inconsistent play as they dropped a series opener to the Detroit Tigers 4-2 Monday night at American Family Field.  William Contreras hit his first Brewer home run in the first inning to stake starter Colin Rea to a lead but a rough third inning was his undoing.  After issuing three walks, two of them came around to score on Nick Maton’s three run blast.   Mike Brosseau got one back with a solo shot in the bottom of the third but Milwaukee would manage only three more hits the rest of the way while the Tigers tacked on one more run in the 5th.   The Brewers drop to 15-8 on the season and became the last team in the majors to lose consecutive games.   They’ll try and prevent a three game slide by sending Eric Lauer to the hill against Spencer Turnbull of Detroit in game two of the series.  Pre-game coverage begins at 6:05 PM with a 6:40 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
