OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The trial for a woman accused of taking the gun from an Oconto Falls police officer and shooting the officer was postponed for a third time Friday.
Alisha Kocken, 28, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and eight other counts for the Aug. 6, 2021 confrontation with Officer Nicole Blaskowski.
There were previous trial dates of Jan. 6, March 8 and May 30.
According to court records, there were problems with the availability of expert witnesses for the May 30 trial date. The trial is now scheduled to start Sept. 19. A seven-day trial is planned.
The previous delays were due to witness unavailability and, at the time, undecided pre-trial motions.
Kocken was charged after an incident where police were called to an Oconto Falls home. There was a physical confrontation between Kocken and Blaskowski. At one point, Kocken allegedly grabbed Blaskowski’s gun and shot the officer in the head. She was later released from the hospital.
