GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers surprised three high school football teams on Monday with a special guest and donations, which will support seven other Wisconsin schools as well.
Student athletes and coaches from Roncalli High School, Bay View High School and Marshall High School took a tour of Lambeau Field before being treated to lunch and a surprise.
Packers Running Back AJ Dillon surprised the teams with $6,000 worth of brand new helmets for their schools.
“Not only do they look good, but, also, they’re definitely gonna be protected going into this season,” said Dillon. “Brand new helmets, you gotta keep the head safe when you’re playing football, and can’t wait to hopefully get to at least one game for each of these teams. It’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
The helmets were part of the Packers Helmet Give Back Program, which benefits teams from around the state.
The other seven schools that will be receiving donated helmets are: Berlin High School, Brodhead High School, Glenwood City High School, Kenosha St. Joseph Catholic Academy, La Crosse Central High School, Milwaukee Academy of Science and Racine Park High School.
