The Milwaukee Brewers had a winning weekend at Wrigley Field to start the season, taking the rubber game from the Chicago Cubs on Sunday 9-5. After getting shutout in the season opener, Milwaukee got even with a victory on Saturday and then piled up 13 hits in the finale, capped by a five run sixth inning. Jesse Winker led the attack with a couple of hits and three runs driven in. Garrett Mitchell and Willy Adames each added a pair of RBI’s and rookie Brice Turang was on base four times with two hits and two walks. Eric Lauer settled in after giving up single runs in each of the first two innings to last five and a third, giving up just the two runs on five hits with six strikeouts to earn the win. Patrick Wisdom launched a pair of home runs for the Cubs. Javy Guerra ran into trouble in the 8th, loading the bases, but only one more run came across. The Brewers will bring a 2-1 record back to Milwaukee for their home opener at American Family Field against the New York Mets on Monday afternoon. Freddy Peralta will face Carlos Carrasco.
