GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The body of a 47-year-old man was pulled by Green Bay Police personnel from the East River on Saturday Morning.
Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:00 A.M. following the report of a passerby who claimed to have seen a backpack next to a hole on the ice by the foot bridge along the East River Trail.
Green Bay Metro Fire Department also responded and remained on scene to assist the Dive Team for the duration of the incident. The body was recovered from the water just after 10 A.M. and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene.
The identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin is notified. The initial investigation currently does not indicate foul play, and no additional details are being released at this time.
