The St. Norbert Green Knights women’s basketball team will place for the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament championship on Saturday after racing past Edgewood College 72-47 in the semifinals at the Mulva Sports Center Thursday night. St. Norbert captured every quarter and got 23 points from Kaycee Gierczak with Chloe Gruszynski adding 11. It was the Lady Knights 15th straight win, getting them to 23-3 on the season. They will host Wisconsin Lutheran in the NACC title game Saturday afternoon. It’s a rematch of last year’s tournament final won by Lutheran in Milwaukee but this one will be on the St. Norbert home floor. If St. Norbert wins, they’ll automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III national tournament for the first time since 2017.
The Green Knight men’s team faces Marian in the NACC semifinals Friday night in De Pere. The Knight’s shared the regular season conference title with Wisconsin Lutheran with a 14-3 record but are the number two seed. They are on a 10 game winning streak and host Marian College, one of three teams to beat the Knights in the regular season, 68-64 back in December. A win puts them into the tournament final on Sunday and it would be at home only if top seed Wisconsin Lutheran gets upset by fourth seeded Benedictine.
