GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Green Bay City Council plans to discuss Tuesday how much a lawsuit defending the audio recording system at City Hall could cost, just a few days before the first court hearing in the case.
The city installed security cameras with audio recording capability in the first and second floor hallways of City Hall. After the system’s existence was revealed, the state Senate and several citizens filed a lawsuit, seeking to stop its use.
In the agenda published Friday morning, it states the council’s Finance Committee plans to discuss it Tuesday. The agenda item reads “For discussion and disclosure on the possible legal expenses regarding the audio recording issue and pending lawsuit.”
No supporting information or documents are attached.
A hearing on the temporary restraining request order – once planned for Monday – is now scheduled for Thursday, March 2.
The Mayor’s office maintains the system is legal.
