GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — There’s a “cheesy” new way for visitors to show their love for Green Bay.
A sculpture reading “I (heart) GB” was unveiled Monday on the north end of CityDeck. The “heart” element of the sculpture is depicted as being made out of cheese.
Tourism leaders hope that the sculpture becomes a social media focal point for some of the 6 million visitors who come to the Green Bay area each year.
“Our visitors — 6 million of them, I’m sure, next year — are going to take pictures here. And as they post those pictures, I’m pretty sure everyone that sees it’s going to go, ‘I’m coming to Green Bay because I want my picture taken with this great new sign,'” Discover Green Bay President/CEO Brad Toll said.
The sculpture is 10 feet tall and is made out of 1,200 pounds of 12-gauge steel, according to Downtown Green Bay, Inc.
