GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Children at a Green Bay Boys & Girls Club went home smiling with full stomachs Tuesday night.
That’s because two Green Bay Packers came to the Lutsey Clubhouse to serve a free turkey dinner.
Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and cornerback Rasul Douglas were scooping potatoes and turkey for the kids Tuesday evening. Other volunteers also helped serve the meal.
Jenkins and Douglas both talked about how special these kind of events are for children.
“When you see their faces, you see your face as a kid — how you wish people gave back to certain communities where you’re from,” said Douglas.
Jenkins said he always enjoys being with Green Bay kids because he knows how treasured the interactions with the Packers players are for them.
