LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Little Chute got a bit of a refresh Tuesday with the help of a group of high school students.
The students replaced about 40 village planters as part of a school service project.
The planters had previously been taken care of by Little Chute’s “Garden Club,” but the group has now dissolved.
The Little Chute Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will now tend to the planters. Due to the sheer number of planters, though, the department was grateful to partner with the Little Chute senior class.
A village official said the display is a focal point for residents.
“The planters are something that people love driving by and seeing them, regardless of the season, […] so the village did want to make sure that we continue the tradition,” said Little Chute Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director John McDonald.
Roughly 30 students helped replace the spring flowers with winter greens.
