APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The man accused of killing his two children in their Kaukauna home in February of 2020 was sentenced this morning to five years in prison for trying to escape from the Outagamie County Jail.
38-year-old Matthew Beyer tried to escape from jail with another inmate in June of 2020 and even took a corrections officer hostage, but never managed to escape the secure area of the jail.
Beyer is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for allegedly killing 5-year-old William and 3-year-old Danielle Beyer.
