GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Mega Millions Jackpot has broken the $1 billion mark, and that means a rush on a number of local lotto vendors that have had a bit more luck that others.
Christina Peterson is an employee at Green Bay’s Jackson Pointe Citgo Station on Packerland Drive, the site of a $316 million Powerball win earlier this year, she says people out there are betting that lightning strikes twice.
“They’re hoping they get the winning ticket, and they’re buying like $80 worth of tickets,” said Peterson.

Roxanne Smet is a manager there.
“There are lots of different people from a lot of different places, even different states,” Smet told WTAQ. “Some call and ask if we can send them tickets, which that we do not do.”
Smet says people from as far as New Jersey have come by to try their luck.
The current Mega Millions jackpot stands at $1.1 billion.
