(WNFL) – Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Eric Lauer improved his record to 4-1, pitching 7 shutout innings in the Brewers’ 7-0 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday night in Milwaukee.
Lauer allowed 5 hits and no walks while striking out 5.
The Brewers bats were quiet until the sixth inning when they took a 2-0 lead on Rowdy Tellez’s 2-run home run. It was his ninth home run of the season.
Milwaukee expanded its lead in the eighth inning when they scored 5 times on a 2-run single by Hunter Renfroe and a 3-run home run by Tyrone Taylor.
Erick Fedde took the loss for Washington, giving up 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings.
