GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Drivers in Outagamie County could get a break in place of a ticket for certain equipment violations.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Grand Chute’s newest Advance Auto Parts store to launch a unique program Thursday designed to increase vehicle safety.
As part of the program, Advance’s store team presented Sheriff Clint Kriewaldt and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Deputies with an Advance Auto Parts gift card donation totaling $2,500.
When a motorist is stopped with an equipment violation such as a broken headlight or taillight, deputies may issue them an Advance gift card they can use to safely repair the faulty equipment without having to worry about the cost of a citation.
“We are glad to be partnering with Advance Auto Parts, a company that shares the sentiment toward roadway safety in our community,” said Outagamie County Sheriff Clint Kriewaldt. “Not only will this partnership help us increase safety on our roads, but also grants us the opportunity to engage with the community in a positive manner.”
Drivers in Outagamie County that receive a gift card may use them at the new store on North Casaloma Drive or any Advance location or online.
