GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay’s bridges over the Fox River Downtown will be taken out of commission on a staggered schedule this month for routine cleaning.
Public Works Director Steve Grenier says it’s something that must be done and it’s scheduled for this week.
“Being a span that’s over the water you don’t want an excessive accumulation of dirt, grit, and other things that could cause environmental issues to go into the water,” said Grenier.
The Tillman bridge carrying Mason Street will be closed from 6 to 3 on Tuesday, April 19th. The Bart Starr Bridge carrying Walnut Street will be closed from 6 to 3 on Wednesday, April 20th. The Ray Nitschke Bridge carrying Dousman Street will be closed Friday, April 22nd from 3 am to 2 pm.
“You’re going to get a couple of days where there are going to be some minor delays downtown, but let me put it this way: in our estimation, this means winter’s over.”
