GREEN BAY, WI (WRN) — State Representative John Macco will not be running for governor next year.
The Green Bay Republican made the announcement via Facebook on Tuesday.
“The concept of having to get up and work 12 and 16 hour days, six days a week for the next 16 months, I just don’t have it in me to do it,” said Macco.
Macco had been considering a run but says he’ll give his support to former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, and predicts she’ll defeat incumbent Democratic Governor Tony Evers. Macco says he’ll run for his Assembly seat again next fall.
