GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Christmas is the season of giving, and area churches are helping with “Operation Christmas Child.”
The project asks people to donate shoeboxes filled with gifts this holiday season.
You can drop them off, and then volunteers will mail them to children in need worldwide.
Volunteer coordinators say they’re looking at getting 20,000 boxes donated locally.
“It is great to do ‘Operation Christmas Child’ before Thanksgiving because it doesn’t cut in to your Black Friday Christmas shopping,” said Tiffany Wieber, Operation Christmas Child Green Bay Area media support. “Al of these donations can be brought in before the Christmas season.”
You have until next Monday to drop off a shoebox. To find out when and where you can drop-off a donation, click here.
