BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A volunteer for the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity is Making A Difference.
Volunteer Mike Piepenburg has completed 9,000 volunteer hours for the organization. That equals a year and 10 days.
The organization says his knowledge and experience with tools and home improvement has made him a tremendous asset to its donation center.
Piepenburg says it’s surprising he has logged that many hours.
“I had some health issues I had taken care of, but I went back to work and I’m still at it,” Piepenburg said. “I’ll be 85 in April, so I don’t know how much longer I can go, but right now, I feel like I can go another 1,000 hours. I’d like to get 10,000 hours if I could. It depends on my health and whatever takes place, but it’s been fun.”
The Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity says Piepenburg has been working with them for about 10 years.
