GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – For the first time ever, the Packers are going international.
While they remain the only team that hasn’t played a regular-season game outside of the United States, the Green and Gold have now made their ongoing stock sale available to fans in Canada.
“Upon announcing our sale in the United States, we received immediate interest from Packers fans in Canada who were hopeful the offering would be available there,” Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy said in a release. “We have now clarified the regulatory requirements in Canada and are excited to officially offer ownership to our Canadian fans.”
During a press conference earlier this week, Murphy cited fans from the United Kingdom who had also expressed interest during their visit for last week’s home game. However, the organization hasn’t been able to secure the proper approval to expand the program outside of North America.
