APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Fox Valley restaurant owner was one of several people convicted in federal court of drug offenses.
Luis Morales, owner of several Mr. Taco locations, pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 17, court records show.
Others also convicted in the case include Frank Dimatteo, Javier Becerra and Sandra Munoz.
Plea hearings are scheduled for Eduardo Morales and Cory Ulrich. A Jennifer Almeida-Sandoval has no hearings scheduled.
According to the criminal complaint, Luis Morales and others distributed several kilograms of cocaine in the Appleton area since June of 2019. Morales arranged for employees to give and take payments for large amounts of cocaine at the chain’s location in Kimberly. During takedowns in December of last year, more than four pounds of cocaine were discovered in Morales’ vehicle and home.
