Jason Mendez-Ramos (GBPD)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Police are still searching for who killed 36-year-old Jason Mendez-Ramos of Ashwaubenon back in September and dumped his body on the campus of UW-Green Bay.
Green Bay Police Captain Ben Allen says they’re waiting on evidence to be processed by the state crime lab–and no evidence is too small.
“We want to make sure that–even as unimportant as it might seem–it might be the thing that helps us solve this case,” Allen told WTAQ. “It’s still a very active investigation, a lot going on with it.”
Allen says staff has been reviewing digital evidence and looking back into previous leads in an effort to solve the case.
No suspects have been identified in the murder.
“This one has been a challenging investigation,” Allen said. “Information we’ve developed has helped narrow the circle [of possible suspects] quite a bit.”
Mendez Ramos was found dead in a wooded area of the campus on September 28th. His car, a 2010 Ford Fusion, was found at an east side apartment complex in late October.
