BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – South Washington Street was packed full of people taking in the last farmers market of 2021.
And with it, perhaps one of the final warm weekends that we’ll see for the rest of the year.
Laura Groff is a regular at the farmers market, coming every weekend since it started at the end of May.
Adding the sun coming out as the day progressed made this farmers market one of the best ones of the entire season.
Yes very much so,” said Groff. “Get as much in as we can before the end of the nice weather.”
She’s not the only one who feels that way.
Kurt Leiterman is the owner of Apple-licious orchard in Howard.
He says the amount of people, including kids in costumes preparing for Halloween, is a bit more than in years past.
“Yup, they’re all stacking up on foods and their favorite items, so it’s good to see them out,” said Leiterman. “And it’s a nice dry day, so it’s a good time.”
The farmers market wasn’t the only place where people enjoyed the nice weather on Saturday.
Others enjoyed more fall-like activities at Blazer’s Acres.
Denice Henning brought her family here for a day of fun, filled with hay rides and apple cider.
Adding she thinks the weather for this Halloween weekend is one of the best in recent memory.
“It’s the first Halloween in a few years where it hasn’t been gross outside,” said Henning. “I remember a couple of years back it was raining really bad.”
But it doesn’t look like that’s the case for this years trick or treaters.
