GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – They’re hiring at the country’s largest grocery warehouse in Green Bay, and they’re paying nearly 30 dollars-and-hour.
Managers at UNFI Green Bay say it’s simple…they are desperate for workers and are taking steps they hope will attract job seekers.
New hires start at 18-45 an hour, with a promised pay raise every six months for two years.
UNFI’s Kurt Van Camp does the arithmetic and says that means workers will be making over 62 thousand-dollars a-year within just two years.
Van Kamp says there’s a reason for the aggressive recruitment.
They are hiring right now to make sure grocery stores have enough food and products for the holiday season.
