SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) — An international dairy company is expanding in Northeast Wisconsin.
Agropur has announced plans to build a $168 million cheese factory in Little Chute. Governor Tony Evers was on hand for the announcement Monday at the Steffens Dairy Farm in Seymour.
“Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland – that’s something we’re damn proud of!” Evers said. “Agropur is a dairy industry leader and a state-of-the-art cheese making facility, with the company investing $168 million to increase production, all the while creating an anticipated 54 more jobs.”
Agropur will be eligible for up to $4.5 million in business tax credits from the state over the next four years based on meeting hiring and capital expenditure goals.
In Wisconsin, Agropur operates facilities in La Crosse, Appleton, Little Chute, Weyauwega, and Luxemburg, employing about 850 employees.
