GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay Packers officials want fans to be aware of some changes heading into Monday night.
Before heading through the gates of Lambeau Field, officials are urging fans to be prepared.
The Packers recently transitioned to mobile tickets.
“We knew there would be transition and we’ll still have some of that going on through these early games but looking forward to getting more of our fans on that platform and all the efficiencies and security that it brings,” Green Bay Packers director of public affairs Aaron Popkey said.
Popkey says while the team is still transitioning, they’re off to a good start.
Popkey also wants to remind fans that cash is no longer king inside Lambeau.
The Packers transitioned to cashless transactions only last year.
“We do have the opportunity if people have not prepared properly for the game with a debit card or credit card or even mobile pay, we have Apple Pay and Google Pay, that’s accepted at our point-of-sale. We do have the conversion machines here, we have them in a few different areas so it is an option, but certainly the most efficient, most convenient option is be prepared with your card or your other form of mobile payment for that cashless environment,” Popkey said.
The Packers are also encouraging fans to head into Lambeau early.
“We are going to communicate around Lambeau Field an hour before the game, so at that 60 minute mark, before we kick off, we are going to have concussions booming from the top of the stadium. So you’ve seen the fireworks, and you’ve seen the concussions when the team runs out, but at this time we’re going to start with the boom and then we’re going to have messaging on all the boards including the Resch Expo and the Resch Center will also promote this,” Green Bay Packers vice president of marketing and fan engagement Gabrielle Dow said.
Fans can also expect to see some new features during the game as wel
