GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Howe Community Resource Center is Making A Difference for children going back to school.
The organization had its second annual “Clothing Hand-Up.”
Thanks to a large grant from “U.S. Venture’s Fund for COVID Response,” volunteers were able to give one outfit to a child for their first day of school.
This year, the Howe Community Resource Center brought in a stylist to select each child’s outfit. Because of COVID, organizers felt it was necessary to do that. They also felt this will help with kicking off the year successfully.
“We made sure every outfit either has pants or a pair of shorts and a nice shirt, and for some of the females, there’s some dresses and things like that, but really, just a nice outfit to start the school year off with confidence,” Howe Community Resource Center Executive Director Amanda Johnson said. “We know that people are struggling.”
People can still register if they want to get an outfit.
The event continues Tuesday.
