GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Terence Cisler was sentenced Tuesday to four months in jail for causing the traffic crash which killed a man.
Cisler, 54, previously pleaded no contest to one count of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle for the 2018 crash.sh Cisler was also placed on probation for five years, and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service by Judge Timothy Hinkfuss, court records show.
The crash happened May 15, 2018, in the town of Eaton. Rodney Bosdeck, 57, was headed west on Highway 29 on his motorcycle when Cisler allegedly made a left turn in front of Bosdeck. That’s when the two crashed, causing Bosdeck to hit the passenger side of the vehicle. Officials said Bosdeck was not wearing a helmet.
Cisler had originally been charged with homicide by use of a vehicle while using a controlled substance, due to allegations in the criminal complaint he had smoked marijuana in the hours before the crash. The criminal complaint noted Cisler did not appear to be impaired. Unlike alcohol-related charges, however, no particular threshold or amount of drug is needed, as any presence of the drug can result in the original charge Cisler faced. But the drug aspect of the felony count was dropped as part of the plea deal.
However, Cisler was convicted Tuesday of an ordinance violation of operating a vehicle with a restricted controlled substance in his blood. His driver’s license was revoked for six months, according to court records.
