FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Sheriff’s deputies in Fond du Lac County arrested a 29-year-old Illinois man on Friday afternoon, after deputies say a high-speed chase led to a drug bust.
It started around 4:30 p.m., deputies say they pulled over a vehicle for speeding on County Hwy. D in the Town of Fond du Lac. The deputy noticed the smell of drugs coming from the vehicle, and asked the driver to step out of it.
That’s when the driver hit the gas, fleeing northbound. Deputies chased the vehicle for about three-quarters of a mile, before the suspect lost control and crashed.
Deputies say they found about a half-pound of suspected cocaine, and a pound of suspected ecstasy in the vehicle.
