GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The major interviews for the four candidates for Green Bay Police Chief are over.
Police and Fire Commission Chairman Rod Goldhahn says that all four interviewed last week, but says there isn’t a clear front runner yet.
“I would say no, not yet,” said Goldhahn. “We’re still looking through all the data and we we’re actually waiting for some additional data that will come in from our background checks.”
All four, Goldhahn says, interviewed well.
“They did a good job,” he told WTAQ. “I was satisfied with the answers and was reassured we made the right choice for our four finalists…it’s going to be a tough choice.”
Commissioners will meet again this week. A decision is expected to be made early next month on which of the four will succeed Andrew Smith, who retired in May.
Two high-ranking Green Bay Police officials, a Police Commander from Milwaukee, and a Deputy Chief from Portland, Oregon are in line for the job.
The finalists are:
- Benjamin Allen, 20 year veteran of the Green Bay Police Department, currently serving as Captain of the Investigations Division.
- Christopher Davis, 22 year veteran of the Portland Police Department, currently serving as Deputy Chief.
- David Salazar, 25 year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, currently serving as Captain/Commander of District 2 Patrol Bureau.
- Kevin Warych, 20 year veteran of the Green Bay Police Department, currently serving as Commander of Operations.
