NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – ThedaCare is encouraging families to take action to help keep children healthy.
During the pandemic, pediatric office visits fell 27%.
Pediatricians are encouraging parents to bring their kids in for wellness checks, even if they’re not sick.
“There’s quite a few things that we look for at wellness exams,” said Dr. Sharon Rink, pediatrician with ThedaCare. “We wanna make sure the whole family is doing okay, any resources that they need, fine motor, speech development is appropriate because if they are behind, you wanna catch that early so you can intervene and get them up to their potential.”
ThedaCare is also encouraging parents to plan now for back-to-school immunizations, including COVID-19.
The Department of Public Instruction requires kids to be vaccinated on the basics, such as measles, polio, whooping cough and others.
