MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) — State health officials are concerned about the Bucks Championship Parade and gatherings in the Deer District during game six of the NBA finals.
“We are concerned. We know people wanted to be jubilant and celebrate, but half the state is vaccinated, and half the state is not vaccinated, and I assume that applies to the Deer District,” said Deputy DHS Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk.
There were 65,000 people gathered in the Deer District during game six and thousands more watched the Bucks Championship parade on Wednesday. COVID-19 doesn’t spread as well outdoors.
