FOND DU LAC CO, WI (WTAQ) – This week, drivers speeding in Northeast Wisconsin are being watched from above.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is planning to conduct three aerial missions this week to catch speeders, and two of them will be in this area.
Planned aerial enforcement are:
Monday, July 12 on I-41 in Washington County
Tuesday, July 13 on WIS 26 in Fond du Lac County
Thursday, July 15 on US 41/141 in Oconto County
State Patrol aircraft uses highway markings and a timing device, known as VASCAR, to determine vehicle speeds. If an aerial officer notices a driver violating a speed or traffic law, it will notify a ground-based officer to initiate a traffic stop.
