ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Packers training camp is returning, and the public is going to be allowed back in after missing a year due to the pandemic.
For the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitor’s Bureau President Brad Toll, they’re finally looking at the end zone, at least as tourism is concerned.
Training camp starts up later this month.
“In a normal year we typically see about 90,000 visitors and upwards of about a $9 million impact,” Toll told WTAQ.
It’s an impact that was seriously missed last year, when the COVID-19 pandemic led to a fan-free Packers Training Camp.
“Back when this all started, we were really looking for that football season to kind of pull us out of of where we were,” said Toll. “Unfortunately that didn’t materialize.”
CVB will be on hand with a mobile visitor center in hopes that people who come for training camp will stay in the area.Training Camp kicks off with a practice on Wednesday, July 28.
