UPDATE 9:30 PM- Michael Leinen has been found and is safe.
WEST BEND, WI (WSAU) — A Silver Alert has been issued for a 76-year-old West Bend man who family members say became disoriented and lost on his way home from North Dakota.
Family members last made contact with Michael Lawrence Leinen Monday at approximately 9 AM when he said he was lost and heading west on Interstate 90. Since then he has not answered his cell phone and family members believe his battery went dead.
His family says he would make the trip from Fairmount, ND to West Bend by taking Interstate 94 east out of North Dakota to Wisconsin 33 then to his home on County Highway P. He would often stop for fuel in Summerset and also use the rest stops along I 94.
Leinen was last seen wearing grey shorts and a white shirt that said “Leinen Family Reunion.” He was driving a white GMC Yukon with Wisconsin plates GF9785. He was pulling a 12-foot utility trailer with wooden sides and unknown license plates.
