WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A handful of Republican lawmakers from around Central and North-Central Wisconsin gathered at North Central Health Care in Wausau to discuss what they call a historic state budget and encourage Governor Evers to sign the measure into law.
Among the highlights from the nearly 30-minute press conference were details of education, health care, and environmental spending. Lawmakers also spent time going over the proposed tax cut included with the package, which could save the average family of four making $80,000 annually just over $1,000.
Included in Thursday’s event were Representatives Scott Krug, John Spiros, Pat Snyder, Donna Rozar, and Calvin Callahan. Senators Patrick Testin and Mary Felzkowski, who sits on the Joint Finance Committee, also spoke.
