GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Bomb Squad cleared a suspicious briefcase discovered early Friday morning in Grand Chute.
Just after 5 a.m., police responded to a business in the 200 block of S. Bluemound Dr. for a report of a suspicious briefcase next to the gas pumps with wires hanging from it.
The Brown-Outagamie County Bomb Squad responded to examine the briefcase.
The Bomb Squad was able to determine the briefcase was not an explosive device. The wires were found to be part of a charging cord hanging out of the briefcase. It did not contain any harmful items and the scene was declared safe.
It is believed that the briefcase had been left behind inadvertently by an unknown individual.
