FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Security-Luebke Roofing joined the effort of the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project to install a new roof for U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Scott Theisen Thursday.
The project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served the country and the families who support them.
The National Roof Deployment Project donated the roofing materials and Security-Luebke Roofing donated the labor.
Vice president of Security-Luebke Roofing, Todd Murphy, tells FOX 11 the company enjoys helping out members of the community.
“Well one of our focuses at Security Luebke Roofing is being a good partner in the community and we enjoy, not just these but other opportunities to give back to the community. This is a special one, obviously as we partner up with the people we do to give back to people that have served our country and unselfishly continue to serve their communities, so it’s a great feeling for us, for our employees and just that we get to participate in this.”
Theisen tells FOX 11 he was shocked when he found out on Veterans Day that he was selected to receive a new roof.
“Pleasantly, it floored me, it was unbelievable, definitely needed something like this because I’ve been getting quotes for roofs and stuff like that, couldn’t have happened at a better time.”
Since the project’s inception in 2016, more than 250 military members have received new roofs.
