OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — The group behind one of the largest aviation events in the entire world is excited by the news from the CDC that masks are no longer being recommended for people who have been fully vaccinated.
Dick Knapinski is the spokesperson for EAA Airventure and he says they’re optimistic.
We came into 2021 with a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan A1, Plan C3,” said Knapinski. “We’re looking at all the eventualities.”
Knapinski says the best case scenario would be that Airventure can be held at fully capacity without masks or social distancing, but they’re still weighing their options.
“Those are our high hopes for it,” he told WTAQ.
No decisions have been made about safety protocols at the event.
Airventure, which was cancelled last year, intends to come into 2021 in force with a number of high-profile demonstrations and aircraft, including the US Air Force Special Operations Command.
Airventure will be held July 26th thru August 1st.
