SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Sheboygan police arrested a 22-year-old Two Rivers man early Sunday morning after being suspected of firing a weapon.
According to the Sheboygan Police Department, at approximately 2:19 a.m. officers heard gunshots while in the area of Indiana Avenue and S 9th Street.
The officers later saw a vehicle leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop.
As a result of the traffic stop, they recovered a handgun and arrested the man.
The 22-year-old told police that he fired the weapon in the air to break up a fight.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
Police arrested the 22-year-old on Endangering Safety by Dangerous Use of a Weapon, but he has not been formally charged.
