GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay school district is planning to develop a plan for equity, diversity and inclusion, and the first step will be a survey later this month.
The district is working with Arlington, Virginia-based Hanover Research to develop the plan.
“In order to ensure all students are successful, our students and their families need to feel they are welcomed and valued in our schools,” Katie Sulzer, the district’s director of pupil services and equity coordinator, said in a news release. “The District’s work with Hanover Research is a multi-year commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, that will include community voice and provide accountability measures.”
Between April 13 and April 27, parents and students in grades 6-12, as well as staff members, will be asked to fill out a survey. The district says it will use the information to “further develop a culturally, racially, and ethnically aware school district and promote a climate of belonging.”
