CALUMET COUNTY, WI (WLUK) — Authorities say a 16-year-old that was riding a horse is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Friday.
The crash happened at County Highway HH near Meyer Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Friday.
According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, the 16-year-old was traveling eastbound on HH when the horse abruptly went into the roadway, and was then hit by the vehicle traveling westbound.
The 16-year-old was transported to Theda Clark Medical Center via air by ThedaStar.
The occupants inside the vehicle were not injured and the horse did not show initial signs of injury.
