APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Appleton man has been charged in connection with a stabbing on Appleton’s north side.
Cornelius C. Pearson, 30, is suspected in the March 18 stabbing attack at the Richmond Street Inn, 2603 N. Richmond St.
One of the victims claims Pearson knocked on the door of the room where she and her husband were staying. The victim, who did not know Pearson, said he asked to come in and charge his cellphone. After he asked about their personal items, the victim said Pearson began stabbing her and her husband. They were able to fight Pearson off, she said, but he did steal some of their property before running off.
Pearson was arrested the next day on a probation violation.
Pearson faces two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, one count of armed robbery, one count of burglary armed with a dangerous weapon and one count of bail jumping.
Police say Pearson was out on bond in a felony case in Brown County. He has a history of incidents involving violence, Appleton police say.
